WebJul 20, 2024 · Boonar shares the same analog signal path as original Echorec but we used high voltage driven FETs as tube emulators and replaced magnetic memory drum with a DSP unit. We developed a special DSP code that faithfully replicates all the characteristics of the actual Binson memory system that we named a virtual magnetic drum. WebI have a dawner prinnce boonar I absolutely love. I didn't love the catalinbread echorec for similar reasons as you plus it just never clicked with me for what I wanted to do and its available heads. Personally I don't need everything the Volante offers and the boonar is closer to the original Binsons imo.

I will say kinda funny in that this pedal was to squelch my desire for a dawner - prince boonar (drool) so I feel you, amigo! I can only compare it to what I have which is a catalinbread echorec. RE-2 does everything the catalinbread does. The Boss sounds just a bit richer to my ear than the catalinbread does, tone wise.
